The 2017/1/17 REST API Notes update has a handful of the most thought pieces about REST APIs on the web. Of particular note this time is an excellent piece Jessica Kerr on when to build a service, and when to build a library. Not everything should be an API (shocking, I know) but Jessica does a great job of breakind down the pros and cons. That, along with deeper dives into APIs-as-product, and API documentation await.
